Job summary

FedEx is seeking a frontline Operations Supervisor to support the Safety Above All Culture and manage day-to-day operations and a assigned staff at the Santa Fe Springs facility. You will ensure safe and efficient package sortation and oversee a team including package handlers and administrative staff.

Responsibilities include hiring, coaching, training, performance management, and adherence to FedEx policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, while driving safety, quality, and cost

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• In lieu of experience, certification program or Associate's Degree or 2+ years of college toward a degree.
• Bachelor's Degree (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Champion FedEx's Safety Above All Culture and support related initiatives.
• Manage hiring, coaching, training, recognition and performance evaluation and staff productivity.
• Plan, organize, staff, direct and control day-to-day operations.
• Assign and manage employees to ensure safe and efficient sortation of packages.
• Analyze operational performance and implement improvement actions.
• Lead daily meetings to communicate updates and goals.
• Develop and administer employee relations and safety strategies.
• Investigate and resolve customer service issues as appropriate.
• Train new employees on duties, performance expectations and FXG policies.
• Mentor and develop junior Operations Supervisors.
• Adapt to change with urgency while maintaining professionalism.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
