Job summary

Amazon is offering a ten-week Area Manager Internship in Portland, OR, designed to teach you how to coach and lead a team of 50–100 warehouse associates. You’ll gain hands-on experience managing shifts, driving safety, quality and productivity, and delivering a meaningful intern project with site leadership support.

During this on-site program, you’ll learn to set shift tone, walk the floor, develop your leadership style, and adapt to rotating schedules including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program with expected completion between December 2027 and August 2028.

Responsibilities

• Learn to coach, manage and develop a team of 50-100 Amazon Associates.
• Drive standard work and continuous improvement through an intern project.
• Work independently and operate in an autonomous environment.
• Stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
• Willing and able to regularly work shift patterns that include nights, weekends, and/or holidays based on business needs.
• Oversee truck deliveries, handle and sort packages using pallet jacks, operate PIT equipment (at applicable facilities).
• Walk the floor regularly to stay connected to your team, spot issues early, and keep things running smoothly.
