Job summary

Amazon Inc. is offering a ten-week Area Manager Intern position in the United States, located at one of Amazon’s operations facilities in Illinois.

You will learn to coach and mentor a team of hourly associates, drive continuous improvement, and gain hands-on leadership experience on a fast-paced warehouse floor. The role emphasizes on-site work, leadership development, and collaboration with site leadership, with relocation/housing support where eligible and a focus on customer-obsessed

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program with all requirements anticipated to be completed between December 2027 and August 2028.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program for Supply Chain, Business/Management, Engineering or another related field.

Responsibilities

• Learn to coach, manage and develop a team of 50-100 Amazon Associates.
• Drive standard work and continuous improvement through an intern project.
• Work independently and operate in an autonomous environment.
• Stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
• Willing and able to regularly work shift patterns that include nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Oversee truck deliveries, handle and sort packages using pallet jacks, operate PIT equipment.
• Work in an environment where the noise level varies.
• Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach.
• Climb and descend stairs (when applicable).
