Job summary

Essex Property Trust in Irvine, CA seeks an Analyst, Operations Analytics to deliver accurate, actionable analysis for senior leadership. The role builds and maintains the Operations data toolkit, enabling durable, automated reporting and clear narratives for decision making.

The ideal candidate will create financial models from scratch, translate data into insights, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive performance and reduce risk.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required.
• 0-2+ years in business analytics, FP&A, BI reporting, or related fields.
• Prior real estate or multi-family housing experience is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills with ability to build operational and financial models from scratch.
• Knowledge of Yardi and real estate industry terminology is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance data and reporting assets for operations teams and corporate users.
• Produce the monthly leadership deck with a clear, decision-ready narrative.
• Establish forward-looking performance expectations and explain variances.
• Develop early-warning indicators to surface risks.
• Build scenario-based forecasts to model outcomes and strategy.
• Aggregate and validate data from multiple sources to support modeling.
