Job summary

Forterra seeks a Senior Data Scientist, Operations Analytics to own analytics for operations. You will design and deploy data infrastructure, predictive models, and reporting to drive sales and operations planning, demand forecasting, and supply chain optimization.

This senior role sits on the Operations leadership team, shaping analytical rigor and impact, with ownership of end-to-end analytics and analytics platforms used across procurement, production, and planning.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data science, analytics engineering, or operations analytics.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL; experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake or equivalent).
• Hands-on experience building forecasting models and data pipelines in production.
• Ability to translate complex model outputs into clear narratives for non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience cross-functional with Finance, Sales, or Operations.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end analytics stack for operations, including data infrastructure and reporting.
• Build and maintain ETL pipelines and data governance with Business Systems.
• Develop forecasting models to support monthly S&OP and capacity planning.
• Create automated dashboards and KPI reporting for executives.
• Design models for inventory optimization, lead time analysis, and supplier performance.
