BluePearl Pet Hospital in Brooklyn, NY is hiring an Ophthalmology Veterinary Assistant to support our ophthalmology patients with compassionate, professional care.

You will assist with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, restrain canines and felines when necessary, prepare medications, and present clear estimates to clients. The role features a Weekdays, 4x10s schedule, competitive hourly pay with shift differentials and opportunities for growth within Mars Veterinary Health.

Qualifications

• Energetic, passionate, and driven Veterinary Assistant candidate for Ophthalmology.
• Experience or willingness to work in ophthalmology environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care for ophthalmology patients following safety protocols.
• Restrain canine and feline patients as needed.
• Assist with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures (eyelid tacking, corneal debridement, burr/grid keratotomy, cryoablation).
• Set up for ocular ultrasound and retinal imaging.
• Prepare medications and discharge instructions for clients.
• Explain hospital estimates clearly to clients.
