Job summary

Bannett & Della Torre Eye Physicians in Woodbury, NJ is seeking an Ophthalmology Technician to join our patient-focused team. You will assist ophthalmologists, perform preliminary eye tests, document histories, and prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, helping ensure smooth, high-quality eye care.

The role requires comfort with ophthalmic equipment, strong communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Qualifications

Prior ophthalmic technician experience preferred.
COA/COT/COMT certification is a plus.
Familiarity with ophthalmic equipment and testing procedures.
Strong patient communication and bedside manner.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Proficiency with EMR systems.
High school diploma or equivalent; ophthalmic training preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist ophthalmologists during patient exams and clinical procedures.
Perform preliminary eye testing including visual acuity, tonometry, and refractometry.
Obtain and document detailed patient medical and ocular histories.
Administer eye drops and prepare patients for diagnostic testing.
Operate and maintain ophthalmic equipment such as slit lamps, OCT, and visual field analyzers.
Educate patients on post-procedure care and medication instructions.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records (EMR).
