Job summary

Bannett & Della Torre Eye Physicians in Woodbury, NJ is seeking an Ophthalmology Technician to join our patient-focused team. You will assist ophthalmologists, perform preliminary eye tests, document histories, and prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, helping ensure smooth, high-quality eye care.

The role requires comfort with ophthalmic equipment, strong communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Prior ophthalmic technician experience preferred.
• COA/COT/COMT certification is a plus.
• Familiarity with ophthalmic equipment and testing procedures.
• Strong patient communication and bedside manner.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Proficiency with EMR systems.
• High school diploma or equivalent; ophthalmic training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist ophthalmologists during patient exams and clinical procedures.
• Perform preliminary eye testing including visual acuity, tonometry, and refractometry.
• Obtain and document detailed patient medical and ocular histories.
• Administer eye drops and prepare patients for diagnostic testing.
• Operate and maintain ophthalmic equipment such as slit lamps, OCT, and visual field analyzers.
• Educate patients on post-procedure care and medication instructions.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records (EMR).
