EyeSouth Partners in Kentucky is seeking a diligent Surgery Scheduler for Kentucky Eye Institute. The role coordinates surgical procedures, aligns surgeon availability, OR capacity, and patient care to ensure timely scheduling across our 10 locations.

The ideal candidate has strong data entry, HIPAA knowledge, and experience with EHR systems such as NexTech/Intellechart Pro. Travel to all practice locations is required, with a focus on accurate communications and patient service.

Qualifications

• Strong data entry and scheduling skills for operating room procedures.
• Attention to accuracy in documentation and case details.
• Understanding of healthcare payors and insurance processes.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and privacy regulations is essential.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Schedules surgical procedures based on surgeon availability and OR capacity.
• Enters and updates surgical case information in scheduling systems and EHRs.
• Manages schedule changes due to cancellations or add-ons.
• Verifies documentation, insurance coverage, and referrals prior to scheduling.
• Obtains prior authorizations when needed and tracks approvals.
• Coordinates with surgeons, nursing, anesthesia, and other departments.
