Job summary

EyeSouth Partners in Florida is seeking a Surgery Coordinator to manage scheduling and coordination for ophthalmology procedures across our network. You will liaise with surgeons, surgical facilities, anesthesia teams, insurance providers, and staff to ensure efficient, compliant patient experiences.

The role requires a High School Diploma, 2+ years of surgical scheduling experience (ophthalmology preferred), EHR proficiency (Nextech/ICP a plus), knowledge of insurance processes, and excellent

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Scheduler/Coordinator or equivalent title; ophthalmology experience preferred.
• Experience with EHR software; Nextech/ICP experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of contracted insurance plans and procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel to all practice locations as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Schedules ophthalmic surgeries across multiple procedures according to surgeon availability and facility requirements.
• Coordinates pre‑op testing and ensures necessary equipment and supplies are ordered.
• Obtains pre‑authorizations and discusses financial responsibility with patients.
• Acts as primary contact for patients, guiding them through pre‑ and post‑operative instructions and timelines.
• Maintains accurate surgical documentation and HIPAA compliance.
• Supports post‑operative follow-up and scheduling.
