Job summary

EyeSouth Partners seeks a Surgical Scheduler/Coordinator to manage ophthalmic surgery scheduling, pre-op testing coordination, and insurance authorizations. You will ensure accurate documentation, patient communication, and seamless coordination among patients, surgeons, facilities, and staff.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in a surgical scheduling role, proficiency with EHRs (Nextech/ICP preferred), and the ability to travel to multiple practice locations while maintaining compassionate

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Scheduler/Coordinator; ophthalmology experience preferred.
• Proficient with EHR systems, Nextech/ICP preferred.
• Knowledge of contracted insurance plans and procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Must be able to travel to all practice locations as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Schedules ophthalmic surgeries and coordinates pre-op testing.
• Obtains pre-authorizations and verifies benefits.
• Communicates with patients to confirm dates and instructions.
• Manages documentation, consent forms, and operative packets.
• Acts as primary contact for patients throughout the surgical process.
• Ensures HIPAA compliant handling of patient information.
