Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of clerical/PSA work experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related tools, plus email/calendar apps.
• Experience with MiChart (Cadence and Reporting Workbench) desired.
• Strong interpersonal skills with all faculty and staff.
• Ability to take initiative, work independently, and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Obtain authorizations for contact lenses, fittings, PROSE devices, and low vision devices.
• Serve as central contact for patient and insurance inquiries related to vision care.
• Complete charge entry, track claims, process refunds, and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Prepare and submit insurance forms, medical necessity documents, and waivers.
• Maintain patient records and verify CPT codes for estimates and payments.
• Coordinate authorizations, billing, and documentation for PROSE and related programs.
• Assist with revenue cycle forums, credentialing issues, onboarding and training.
• Collaborate with social work, optical staff, and providers to resolve concerns.
• Support specialty clinic scheduling and follow-up visits for complex cases.
• Provide back-up coverage to PSA team and mentor junior staff.
