Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care in a team-based clinical setting. Under supervision, you will assist with examinations, coordinate care activities and help with office operations.

You will prepare exam rooms, document in the EHR, perform vital signs, and ensure compliance with HIPAA, safety and certification requirements. Travel between locations may be required as needed.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED required; completion of a medical assistant program is required.
• Certification training within 30 days of hire and certification within 120 days if not already certified.
• Preferred: Associate's Degree.

Responsibilities

• Assists in coordinating patient care under supervision of the health care provider.
• Prepares and rooms patients, obtains vitals, documents history and screening data.
• Performs back office testing and assists with examinations and procedures.
• Documents in EHR accurately and maintains inventory and room readiness.
• May act as a scribe with training and may float between locations.
