Job summary

UPMC Vision Institute in Pittsburgh, PA is hiring a Medical Assistant to support our ophthalmology practice at 1622 Locust Street. Hours are Monday through Friday, between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., with start times based on clinic schedules.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy and EKG experience or training.
• Familiarity with patient records and front desk tasks.
• HIPAA and patient privacy knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture under supervision and assist with eye drop preparation.
• Prepare patient rooms and maintain infection control between visits.
• Assist with charting, scheduling, and patient information management.
• Relate basic patient education and coordination of care with the ophthalmology team.
• Complete forms and requisitions as needed; verify insurance and demographics.
