Astellas Pharma is seeking a Market Development Manager for field-based work across the Mountain West region, including CO. You will lead advocacy with retina and ophthalmology thought leaders to support Izervay adoption and GA treatment, collaborating with Sales, Field Medical, and Marketing to drive peer-to-peer education and customer insights.

The role demands strong clinical acumen, leadership across functions, and extensive travel within the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in science or business-related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries.
• Strong clinical acumen with specialty pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical experience.
• Broad leadership competencies and cross-functional ability.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel extensively within the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute a plan to increase advocacy with key thought leaders in Retina, Comprehensive Ophthalmology, and Optometry.
• Represent the company in customer engagements and ophthalmology conferences.
• Collect and share customer insights to inform matrix teams and brand strategy.
• Demonstrate strong disease state and product knowledge in Retina, Comprehensive Ophthalmology and Optometry.
• Collaborate with Sales, Field Medical, and Reimbursement to develop regional plans.
• Facilitate collaboration with Sales, Field Medical and Reimbursement teams to maximize opportunities.
• Support Marketing in identifying and training thought leaders for the speaker’s bureau.
• Establish connections with leadership of regional retina, ophthalmic and optometric societies.
• Maintain highest integrity by ensuring compliance with all regulations and policies.
