Job summary

Astellas is hiring an Ophthalmics Area Business Lead for US East. You will lead Regional Business Leaders, set sales strategy, allocate resources, and drive performance across ophthalmology franchises including IZERVAY.

This field-based, hybrid role requires 10+ years pharma sales with 8+ in leadership, ophthalmology experience, and ability to travel up to 50% while managing budgets and cross-functional partners to maximize patient and commercial value.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years U.S. pharmaceutical selling experience including 8+ years in leadership.
• Ophthalmology market experience with Retina knowledge is highly desired
• Extensive knowledge of sales processes and pharmaceutical products
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time and valid driver’s license
• MBA or academic degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Regional Business Leaders and Sales Team to achieve area goals.
• Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies for US ophthalmic products.
• Allocate budgets and resources to maximize patient impact and commercial value.
• Collaborate with Market Access and cross-functional partners to strengthen positioning.
• Ensure compliance with policies and elevate customer engagement across regions.
