Job summary

Retina Institute of Virginia in Richmond seeks an Ophthalmic Technician to support ophthalmologists by performing pre-exam testing and patient preparation. The role requires travel to multiple RIV locations; mileage and travel time are paid.

Full benefits, 401k, PTO, and paid holidays are provided. The technician will handle imaging and diagnostic testing (OCT, visual fields, and more), document patient histories in EMR, and assist with procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current COA/COT preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients promptly and maintain a professional attitude.
• Assist ophthalmologists and facilitate clinic flow.
• Perform initial testing and prepare patients for exams.
• Record data in EMR and document patient encounters.
• Maintain cleanliness and stocking of exam rooms and equipment.
• Comply with HIPAA and company policies.
