Job summary

Virginia Eye Consultants in Norfolk, VA is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support ophthalmologists by performing initial testing and preparing patients for exams. The role focuses on accurate data entry, patient communication, and efficient clinic flow.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related experience; COA/COT is preferred but not mandatory. Willingness to travel among Hampton, Suffolk, and Virginia Beach is expected.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist ophthalmologist with patient testing prep.
• Provide exceptional customer service during patient encounters.
• Document patient data in EMR accurately.
• Record medical history and medications for visits.
• Operate diagnostic equipment (OCT, GDX, IOL Master, auto refractor, topography).
• Maintain exam rooms and stock supplies; ensure HIPAA compliance.
