Job summary

Retina Specialists of Ohio/Corrective Eye in Independence, OH seeks an Ophthalmic Technician to assist ophthalmologists by performing initial testing and patient preparation for exams. The role requires travel to satellite offices and interaction with multiple care locations.

Responsibilities include patient testing (dilation, refraction, visual fields, OCT, GDX, IOL Master, auto refractor, topography) and EMR data entry, with a focus on accurate documentation and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum Required: High school diploma or GED
• Minimum Required: One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• COA/COT certification is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Greet patients promptly and maintain a professional attitude
• Anticipate Physician needs to facilitate clinic flow
• Practice urgency with patient and doctor time and schedule
• Comply with HIPAA and company policies
• Verify patient information and medical history
• Document data in the EMR
• Record vital signs and prepare patients for treatments
