Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of ophthalmology technician experience preferred.
• Ability to type 45 words per minute.
• Advanced understanding of HIPAA rules and regulations.
• COA/COT certification preferred.
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform workups including obtaining medical and surgical history and completion of diagnostic testing.
• Prepare patients for procedures and assist in minor procedures.
• Triage phone calls and coordinate with office staff.
• Accurately perform Humphrey Visual Field, OCT, A-scans, Corneal Topography and related tests.
• Maintain back-office inventory and supplies.
