Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience as Ophthalmology Technician preferred.
• Type at least 45 wpm.
• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Technician (COT) preferred.
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
• Understand HIPAA rules and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-testing and diagnostic testing per office policy.
• Educate patients and gather medical/surgical history.
• Coordinate with doctors and staff to optimize workflow.
• Triage calls and route to appropriate staff.
• Assist in minor procedures and prepare patients for laser procedures.
• Maintain back-office inventory and medical records.
