Job summary

ReFocus Eye Health in New Jersey is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to join our growing ophthalmology team. This full-time role offers up to 40 hours per week Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional Saturday morning duties.

The position involves gathering patient information, performing ophthalmic testing, assisting in minor surgical procedures, and supporting clinic flow. Travel to Randolph may be required. Benefits include health, dental, and a matching 401(k).

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Ophthalmic Technician.
  • Knowledge of medical office procedures.
  • Ability to perform indirect activities and administrative tasks that contribute to efficient practice.
  • COA certification is a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Gather comprehensive patient information and ensure accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans.
  • Conduct preliminary ophthalmic testing including visual acuity and pupillary responses.
  • Perform advanced diagnostics such as OCT, perimetry, and ophthalmic photography.
  • Assist ophthalmologists during minor surgeries, laser procedures, and crosslinking.
  • Streamline patient flow in clinic and imaging rooms; collaborate with clinical staff.
  • Administer eye drops and support overall clinic efficiency.

Your Impact:

  • Perform advanced diagnostics: Administer a range of diagnostic tests, such as OCT, perimetry, and ophthalmic photography.
  • Assist in surgical procedures: Support ophthalmologists during minor surgeries, laser procedures, and crosslinking.
  • Streamline patient flow: Efficiently manage patient flow in clinic and imaging rooms, collaborating with clinical staff.

  • High School Diploma or GED.
