Job summary

ReFocus Eye Health in Bloomfield, CT is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to join our growing ophthalmology team. You will work closely with physicians to gather patient data and perform comprehensive eye testing.

You will conduct tests such as OCT and perimetry, assist in minor surgeries, manage patient flow, and support administrative tasks to keep the clinic running smoothly. Certification in COA is a valued bonus.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven Ophthalmic Technician experience.
  • Knowledge of medical office procedures.
  • COA certification is a bonus.
  • Ability to perform indirect activities and administrative duties.

Responsibilities

  • Gather comprehensive patient information with ophthalmologists.
  • Conduct preliminary ophthalmic testing (visual acuity, pupil responses).
  • Administer diagnostic tests (OCT, perimetry, ophthalmic photography).
  • Assist in minor surgeries and laser procedures.
  • Streamline patient flow in clinic and imaging rooms.
  • Administer eye drops as required.
  • Support clinic efficiency with clinical and administrative tasks.

Your Impact:
  • Elevate patient care: Work closely with our ophthalmologists to gather comprehensive patient information, ensuring accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans.
  • Master ophthalmic testing: Conduct thorough preliminary examinations, including visual acuity, pupillary responses, and more.
  • Perform advanced diagnostics: Administer a range of diagnostic tests, such as OCT, perimetry, and ophthalmic photography.
  • Assist in surgical procedures: Support ophthalmologists during minor surgeries, laser procedures, and crosslinking.
  • Streamline patient flow: Efficiently manage patient flow in clinic and imaging rooms, collaborating with clinical staff.
  • Administer eye drops: (Certification Required)
  • Contribute to clinic efficiency: Perform clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring a smooth and organized workflow.
