Job summary

Retina Consultants of Texas in Livingston is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to join our retina-focused practice. This role performs accurate documentation of patient medical history and preliminary ocular examinations while helping maintain smooth patient flow.

Candidates must be able to travel to multiple clinics and support clinic hours from 6:30am to 6:30pm. We emphasize compassionate care, HIPAA compliance, and teamwork across our clinical staff.

Qualifications

• One to two years of ophthalmic assistant experience preferred.
• CPR certification required.
• Certification as ophthalmic assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient history including chief complaint and ocular history.
• Record visual acuity, visual fields, motility, pupil function, dilation and tonometry.
• Maintain patient flow and appointment communication.
• Perform opening/closing duties and inventory management.
• Keep exam and procedure rooms clean and stocked.
• Back-up ophthalmic photographer for OCTs.
• Reschedule no-shows and manage test sequence.
• Troubleshoot equipment (projector, tonopen, autoclave).
• Assist physician with laser procedures, injections, and minor procedures.
