Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Bilingual Ophthalmic Technician for a fast-paced retina practice serving the Greater Houston area. The role involves rooming patients, documenting encounters in the EMR, and supporting physicians in a high-volume setting.

Based out of Conroe, TX, with regular travel to Brenham on Tuesdays and Fridays, the position offers onsite work in a collaborative team environment and opportunities for long-term career growth in healthcare.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Biology, Life Sciences, Kinesiology, Health Sciences, Psychology, or a related field OR
• Minimum of 6 months of experience in a patient-facing healthcare environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced patient care setting
• Strong organizational and documentation skills
• Comfortable working with a high daily patient volume

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain accurate medical history, chief complaints, medications, and other relevant information prior to physician visits
• Prepare patients for examinations and diagnostic testing
• Accurately document physician encounters and patient information within the EMR system
• Support physicians and clinical staff throughout the patient visit
• Maintain complete and accurate patient records while providing an exceptional patient experience
• Assist with clinic workflow and patient throughput in a high-volume retina practice
• Collaborate closely with physicians and fellow technicians to ensure efficient daily operations
