Job summary

Target Optical in Concord, NC seeks an Ophthalmic Technician to support ophthalmic care and patient flow. You will assist with eye exams, collect histories, and help manage patient records while maintaining accuracy and privacy standards.

The role involves dilations, preliminary testing, and operating ophthalmic equipment. Weekend/evening shifts may be required to meet store needs, with on-site responsibilities and a focus on customer service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year of strong customer service experience.
• Strong communication and listening skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to use exam software, POS technology, and ophthalmic equipment.
• Strong math skills.
• Ability to work autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care and eye exams and manage patient records.
• Perform preliminary evaluations including histories, refractions, tonometry, dilation.
• Perform special testing such as OCTs, biometry, topography, and retinal imaging/photography.
• Maintain organized patient records and support appointment flow.
• Adhere to HIPAA and practice standards; support doctor and staff as needed.
