Job summary

Target Optical in Mount Pleasant, SC is seeking a dedicated Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. You will assist with patient care, eye exams, and help manage patient records while delivering a high-quality experience.

Responsibilities include taking histories, performing testing (OCT, biometry, topography), preparing patients, and maintaining HIPAA-compliant records, with flexible scheduling to support weekend/evening shifts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year of strong customer service.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient care and eye exams, including managing patient records and supporting patient flow throughout the exam.
• Performs preliminary evaluations including obtaining patient histories, reviewing medications, visual acuities and pupil assessments.
• Performs special testing including OCTs, biometry, topography and retinal imaging.
• Performs pre-examination testing and explains measurements to patients.
• Maintains HIPAA-compliant records and handles scheduling and equipment safety.
• Supports weekend/evening shifts as needed to meet business needs.
