Job description

Eye Services is looking for skilled Ophthalmic Technicians seeking to advance their skill set and career. The practice consists of 5 Optometrists and 2 Ophthalmologists and offers diverse services including comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings, cataract surgery, medical eye injections, and laser treatment.

Responsibilities

• Perform ophthalmic testing for the physician, including tonometry, refractometry, OCT, visual fields, pachymetry, perimetry, lensometry, autorefrations, fundus photography, and patient work ups.
• Calculate diagnostic data such as K readings, refraction, visual fields.
• Document patient history; perform visual acuity and glaucoma tests.
• Prepare instruments for in-office procedures.
• Enter data into the EMR during patient work ups.
• Assist surgeons in the office during procedures.
• Provide post-operative progress reports to surgeons.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of medications, medical supplies, and printed material needed for the clinic.
• Maintain and monitor clinic equipment.
• Share responsibility for actively maintaining workload items for clinical and support buckets.

Qualifications

Ophthalmic Technician with COA or COT certification preferred; previous ophthalmic/optometric experience preferred. Proficiency in basic computer, operating systems, and technology. Knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacology ideal.
