Vision Innovation Partners in Florida seeks an Ophthalmic Technician I to support providers with diagnostic procedures and patient care. On-site role with on-the-job training provided for career path as ophthalmic tech or scribe.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in medical fields such as medical assistant, medical scribe, patient care technician, nursing assistant, or pharmacy technician is a plus.
• Experience with EMR tools and MS Office is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take medical histories and verify information.
• Perform visual function and diagnostic tests, such as applanation tonometry, refraction, and retinoscopy.
• Utilize Humphrey field analyzer and OCT to take eye measurements.
• Inform ophthalmologist about changes to a patient’s visual acuity and other vision issues.
• Dilate eyes to prepare patients for eye exams.
• Explain how to properly use eye drops or medications.
• Explain how to properly use contact lenses.
• Assist with inventory management.
• May travel to other locations.
