Job summary

Vision Innovation Partners in Baltimore, MD is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician I to join our patient care team. The ideal candidate has medical experience and a passion for patient care, with on‑the‑job training toward a career path as an ophthalmic technician or scribe.

Primary duties include assisting providers with diagnostic and treatment tasks and administrative duties. The position offers $17.50–$19 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package, including 401(k), paid time off, education

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED certificate.
• Experience in the medical field (e.g., medical assistant, scribe, nursing assistant).
• Experience with EMR tools.
• Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Experience as ophthalmic technician or scribe is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Take medical histories and verify information.
• Perform visual function and diagnostic tests (tonometry, refraction, retinoscopy).
• Utilize Humphrey field analyzer and OCT for eye measurements.
• Inform ophthalmologist about changes in vision.
• Dilate eyes to prepare for exams.
• Explain use of eye drops or medications.
• Explain contact lens care.
• Assist with inventory management.
