Job summary

Vision Innovation Partners is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician I to support clinicians with diagnostic tests and patient care in a fast-paced eye care setting.

The role emphasizes history taking, visual testing, instrument use (Humphrey, OCT), and patient education. On-site training is available; prior ophthalmic or scribe experience is a plus. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in medical field (medical assistant, scribe, patient care tech, etc.).
• Experience with EMR tools.
• Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Ophthalmic technician or scribe experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Take medical histories and verify information.
• Perform visual function tests such as tonometry, refraction, and retinoscopy.
• Use Humphrey field analyzer and OCT to take eye measurements.
• Inform ophthalmologist about changes in visual acuity and other issues.
• Dilate eyes to prepare patients for exams.
• Explain how to use eye drops or medications.
• Explain contact lens care and usage.
• Assist with inventory management.
