Job summary

Associated Retina Consultants is seeking a full-time Ophthalmic Technician for our Gilbert, AZ office. You will perform preliminary patient work-ups, assist physicians during exams and document care in the EMR.

Qualified candidates have a High School diploma or GED and certification (Ophthalmic Assistant, Medical Assistant or Ophthalmic Scribe) or are willing to obtain OSC within 30 days. English proficiency is required; bilingual a plus. Some travel to other ARC locations may be needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate; willingness to obtain OSC within 30 days of hire if not certified
  • English reading/writing/speaking proficiency required
  • Bi-lingual a plus
  • Six months of outpatient or medical office experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Promptly and professionally assists the doctor in patient care
  • Efficiently and accurately interviews patients and documents histories and special testing
  • Communicates with patients regarding follow-up care, surgeries, procedures, changes in schedule, symptoms, surgery scheduling, etc.
  • Maintains and cleans all equipment used and reports irregularities
  • Instill Eye Drops
  • Clean and stock exam rooms as needed
  • Check expiration dates on medications
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential
  • Travel to other ARC locations may be required

Education
