Job summary

Associated Retina Consultants seeks an Ophthalmic Technician to support physicians during examinations and perform preliminary workups. The role encompasses documenting encounters in the EMR, performing tests such as OCT, tonometry, visual acuity, and field testing, and ensuring clean, stocked exam rooms.

Flexible travel to ARC locations may be required. The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED and appropriate ophthalmic certifications, with English proficiency and strong

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and one of the listed certifications (COA, MA, or Ophthalmic Scribe) or willing to obtain OSC within 30 days of hire.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to work with culturally diverse people; excellent communication, time management and leadership skills.
• Bi-lingual a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist doctor in patient care promptly and professionally.
• Interview patients and document histories and testing.
• Communicate follow-up care, surgeries, schedule changes and symptoms.
• Maintain and clean equipment; report irregularities to supervisor.
• Perform OCT, tonometry (Perkins and Tonopen), Visual Acuity and other tests.
• Travel to other ARC locations may be required.
• Attend staff meetings and review notes if absent.
