Job summary

Desert Vista Eye Specialists in Gilbert, AZ seeks an Ophthalmic Technician to support ophthalmologists by performing initial testing and patient prep, while delivering compassionate care throughout visits.

The ideal candidate will have excellent patient communication, HIPAA awareness, and experience with EMR systems and ophthalmic equipment. Some positions require COA/COT; a high school diploma and at least one year of related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of related experience.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand/walk during shifts.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients professionally and verify information.
• Assist physician by preparing patient for eye exam.
• Operate ophthalmic testing equipment (visual fields, OCT, IOL master, etc.).
• Document data in EMR accurately.
• Maintain clean and stocked exam rooms.
• Support scheduling and patient flow.
