Job summary

Associated Retina Consultants is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to perform preliminary patient work-ups, assist physicians during exams, and document encounters in the electronic medical record.

The role requires patient interviewing, testing such as OCT and tonometry, maintaining exam rooms, and travel to other ARC locations. A high school diploma and ophthalmic certification are required, with OSC obtainable within 30 days. Bilingual ability is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certification as Ophthalmic Assistant/Medical Assistant/Scribe preferred; OSC within 30 days if not certified.
• Excellent communication, time management and leadership skills.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Promptly and professionally assist the doctor in patient care.
• Interview patients and document histories and testing.
• Explain follow‑up care, surgeries, procedures, and scheduling.
• Maintain and clean all equipment and exam rooms; report irregularities.
• Perform OCT, tonometry, visual acuity, and related tests.
• Travel to other ARC locations may be required.
• Attend staff meetings as required.
