Job summary

Associated Retina Consultants is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician for the Phoenix office. This full-time role performs patient work-ups, assists physicians, documents encounters in the EMR, and supports daily clinic operations.

Expect varied shifts, including Saturdays, with travel to other ARC locations as needed. The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or GED with ophthalmic certification, strong English communication, and ability to work with diverse patients.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED and ophthalmic certification; OSC within 30 days if not certified.
  • Ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse people.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills.
  • Bi-lingual a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preliminary work-up of patients and assist physician during examinations.
  • Document patient encounters in the EMR as directed by the physician.
  • Interview patients and document histories and special testing.
  • Communicate follow-up care, surgery scheduling, and changes in schedule to patients.
  • Maintain and clean equipment; report irregularities to supervisor.
  • Instill eye drops and stock exam rooms; check medication expiration dates.
  • Travel to other ARC locations may be required.
  • Attend staff meetings; shifts 8–14 hours; Saturday hours for Phoenix office.
