Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a dedicated ophthalmology paraprofessional to provide direct patient care, assist physicians during examinations, and maintain orderly workflow across multiple clinics.

You will administer medications, collect data, educate patients and families, and document all care activities in the charting system. Opportunities for professional development and growth are available within a large integrated health system.

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred.
• Paraprofessional education in ophthalmology or optometry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications and performs patient care procedures as directed and according to established criteria.
• Assists physicians during treatment, testing, refractometry and examinations.
• Maintains timely flow of patients and documents patient care and related information.
• Performs telephone triaging of patients and responds to incoming calls.
• Reviews and maintains charts and participates in QA.
