Job summary

Physician Directed Partners is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to join our fast-growing ophthalmology practice. You will perform preliminary exams, diagnostic testing, and provide excellent patient care under physician guidance.

The role requires strong attention to detail, effective communication, and proficiency with EHR systems. Opportunities include supporting routine exams and minor procedures in a clinic setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Detail oriented and self-motivated.
• Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in computer and EHR software.
• Ability to be proactive and take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Make introductions and establish rapport with patients and document chief complaints and ocular findings.
• Perform pre-exam testing: visual acuity, confrontation, tonometry, dilation and specialty tests.
• Conduct lensometry and tests like visual fields, keratometry, A/B scans, OCT and biometric measurements.
• Process prescription refills with physician authorization and document in patient chart.
• Assist with minor surgical procedures or laser treatments in the office.
• Educate patients on medications and pre-/post-operative instructions.
