Job summary

North Valley Surgery is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to provide essential clinical support under physicians and optometrists. You will prepare patients, perform diagnostic testing, and help maintain ophthalmic equipment to ensure smooth clinic operations and high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities include entering accurate patient histories in the EHR, assisting with minor procedures, administering ophthalmic drops, and upholding HIPAA and safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior medical office or healthcare experience preferred; ophthalmic/optometric tech preferred.
• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) credential preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients professionally and document histories in EHR.
• Perform pre-test procedures and explain tests to patients.
• Operate OCT, fundus photography, and other ophthalmic tests.
• Assist with minor procedures and patient education.
• Maintain equipment, rooms, and infection control.
