Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to join our ophthalmology team. You will collect patient data, perform testing and imaging, and assist with minor procedures in a fast-paced clinical setting at multiple NJ/PA sites.

The role emphasizes accuracy, collaboration, and high-quality patient care. In this position, you may support crossfunctional teams and handle essential administrative tasks to maintain smooth clinic operations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Ophthalmic Technician.
• Knowledge of medical office procedures.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist ophthalmologists with patient intake and data collection.
• Perform preliminary ophthalmic testing including visual acuity and pupillary responses.
• Conduct diagnostic tests such as OCT, perimetry, and ophthalmic photography.
• Assist in minor surgeries, laser procedures, and crosslinking.
• Streamline patient flow in clinic and imaging rooms with clinical staff.
• Administer prescribed eye drops.
• Perform clinical and administrative tasks to support efficient workflow.

$1000 sign on bonus

Up to 32 hours a week. Locations are variable depending on OR time, includes Plymouth Meeting, Nazareth and Sewell, NJ locations.

Your Impact:

• Elevate patient care: Work closely with our ophthalmologists to gather comprehensive patient information, ensuring accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans.
• Master ophthalmic testing: Conduct thorough preliminary examinations, including visual acuity, pupillary responses, and more.
• Perform advanced diagnostics: Administer a range of diagnostic tests, such as OCT, perimetry, and ophthalmic photography.
• Assist in surgical procedures: Support ophthalmologists during minor surgeries, laser procedures, and crosslinking.
• Streamline patient flow: Efficiently manage patient flow in clinic and imaging rooms, collaborating with clinical staff.
• Administer eye drops
• Contribute to clinic efficiency: Perform clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring a smooth and organized workflow.
