Job summary

ReFocus Eye Health is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to join our ophthalmology team in Maryland. The role involves performing preliminary testing, collecting patient information, and assisting in procedures to support accurate diagnoses and efficient patient care.

You will conduct visual acuity, pupillary testing, OCT, perimetry, and ophthalmic photography, while maintaining a smooth patient flow and high-quality service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• COA certification is a plus/bonus.
• Proven experience as Ophthalmic Technician preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gather comprehensive patient information with ophthalmologists for accurate diagnoses.
• Conduct preliminary ophthalmic testing including visual acuity and pupillary responses.
• Perform diagnostics such as OCT, perimetry, and ophthalmic photography.
• Assist ophthalmologists during minor surgeries and laser procedures.
• Manage patient flow in clinic and imaging areas with clinical staff.
• Administer eye drops (certification required) and handle related duties.
• Perform administrative tasks to keep the practice efficient and organized.

Join Our Growing Ophthalmology Team as an Ophthalmic Technician!

Up to 40 hours per week

Mon to Fri 8am to 4:30pm with rotating shifts every month 7am to 3:30pm & 8:30am to 5pm.

Travel to Rockville once a week

Your Impact:

• Elevate patient care: Work closely with our ophthalmologists to gather comprehensive patient information, ensuring accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans.
• Master ophthalmic testing: Conduct thorough preliminary examinations, including visual acuity, pupillary responses, and more.
• Perform advanced diagnostics: Administer a range of diagnostic tests, such as OCT, perimetry, and ophthalmic photography.
• Assist in surgical procedures: Support ophthalmologists during minor surgeries, laser procedures, and crosslinking.
• Streamline patient flow: Efficiently manage patient flow in clinic and imaging rooms, collaborating with clinical staff.
• Administer eye drops: (Certification Required)
• Contribute to clinic efficiency: Perform clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring a smooth and organized workflow.
