Job summary

ReFocus Eye Health in Salisbury, MD is seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Technician to join our multi-specialty ophthalmology team. You will work with physicians to collect patient data, perform tests, and support accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.

This role requires attention to detail, excellent communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. A High School Diploma is required; COA certification is a bonus. Local travel is not expected.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and gather patient information to support diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Conduct preliminary ophthalmic tests such as visual acuity and pupil responses.
  • Perform diagnostic tests including OCT, perimetry, and ophthalmic photography.
  • Assist ophthalmologists during minor surgeries and laser procedures.
  • Manage patient flow in clinic and imaging rooms.
  • Administer eye drops and perform other assigned duties.

Salisbury LOCATION

Local travel is REQUIRED. Mileage reimbursement is paid out if using your own vehicle.

Your Impact as an Ophthalmic Technician:

  • Elevate patient care: Work closely with our ophthalmologists to gather comprehensive patient information, ensuring accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans.
  • Master ophthalmic testing: Conduct thorough preliminary examinations, including visual acuity, pupillary responses, and more.
  • Perform advanced diagnostics: Administer a range of diagnostic tests, such as OCT, perimetry, and ophthalmic photography.
  • Assist in surgical procedures: Support ophthalmologists during minor surgeries, laser procedures, and crosslinking.
  • Streamline patient flow: Efficiently manage patient flow in clinic and imaging rooms, collaborating with clinical staff.
  • Administer eye drops: (Certification Required)
  • Contribute to clinic efficiency: Perform clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring a smooth and organized workflow.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
