Job summary

Texas Retina Associates is Texas’ largest ophthalmology practice focused on retina and vitreous diseases. The role is located in the Plano Office and may travel to other locations to support physicians as a scribe and with patient workups, testing, examinations, education, and treatment.

Responsibilities include assisting physicians, documenting visits, preparing exam rooms, and ensuring HIPAA compliance while maintaining a sterile environment and effective office workflow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of ophthalmic technician experience required.
• COA or COT certification and retinal practice experience preferred.
• Training in medical terminology required.
• Experience with NextGen and Patient Management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support physicians and assist with patient work up and testing.
• Document visits and procedures in real time as performed by the physician.
• Prepare exam rooms and assist during physician exams.
• Travel to other locations as needed to support physicians.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Clerical tasks and communication with patients and staff.
• Ensure proper patient paperwork and insurance forms are complete.
