The ideal candidate has strong typing/data entry skills, familiarity with EMR software, and a basic grounding in medical coding and billing.

Qualifications

• Completion of a medical scribe training program or experience preferred.
• Familiarity with medical practice management and electronic medical record software.

Responsibilities

• Document patients accurately in EHR, capturing medical history, complaints, exam findings and treatment plans.
• Practice strong data entry with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Review records for inconsistencies and ensure proper coding.
• Prepare examination rooms with instruments and educational materials.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA by following regulations.
• Transcribe and enter information via verbal or written communication into patient records.
• Demonstrate knowledge of medical coding and billing processes.
