Job summary

Eye Health America, in partnership with The Eye Associates, is seeking an ophthalmic scribe to document ocular examinations accurately and maintain smooth patient flow during the clinic day.

Requirements include a minimum of two years in a medical office (ophthalmology preferred) and a scribe certification. You will chart exams, summarize physician notes, and assist the doctor during visits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years’ experience in a medical office, preferably ophthalmology.
• Scribe certification (preferably certified ophthalmic assistant).

Responsibilities

• Summarizes and documents what the physician verbalizes during an examination, including charting and documenting assessment and treatment recommendations.
• Observes the patient and the physician and assists during the exam.
• Completes the superbill or enters billing orders and guides the patient through checkout as directed.
• Becomes fluent in the exact requirements of each examination.
