Job summary

Crawford Thomas Recruiting is seeking an experienced Front Office Receptionist / Surgical Scheduler to join a busy medical practice in Lawrence Township, NJ.

The ideal candidate will handle patient check-in/out, schedule appointments, coordinate surgical procedures with centers, prepare orders and paperwork, and maintain accurate patient records; ophthalmology or eye care experience is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous medical receptionist or surgical scheduling experience.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Experience coordinating with surgery centers.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and EMR/EHR systems preferred.
• Ophthalmology, optometry, or eye care experience highly preferred.
• Experience scheduling ophthalmic procedures, including cataract surgery, is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and manage check-in/check-out procedures
• Schedule and coordinate patient appointments
• Coordinate surgical procedures with surgery centers
• Prepare surgical orders, paperwork, and patient documentation
• Communicate with surgery centers regarding scheduling and patient preparation
• Manage scheduling conflicts and appointment changes
• Collect copays and patient fees
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Perform general administrative and clerical duties
