Job summary

Eyehealth-Northwest- is seeking an ophthalmic technician to perform diagnostic testing, patient education, and measurements under physician supervision. The role requires COA certification within 12 months, strong computer skills, and the ability to travel between Milwaukie, Sunnybrook, and Wilsonville locations.

Responsibilities include taking visual acuity tests, OCT, lensometry, administering eye drops, and assisting with patient flow and documentation in a fast-paced clinic.

Qualifications

• COA certification within 12 months of hire
• Minimum 1 year ophthalmic experience preferred
• Solid computer skills and typing ~60 wpm
• Knowledge of ocular/systemic diseases affecting the eye
• Ability to work flexible schedule at multiple sites

Responsibilities

• Communicate professionally with patients and families; explain tests and procedures.
• Perform diagnostic tests to aid diagnosis and treatment of ocular conditions.
• Take ocular measurements and perform visual function tests as directed.
• Administer topical ophthalmic medications under physician supervision.
• Prepare exam rooms, maintain equipment, and ensure infection control.
• Assist during patient flow and coordinate with clinicians and staff.
• Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy per HIPAA/standards.
