Job summary

EyeHealth Northwest is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to join our Oregon City clinic. You will perform exams, assist physicians, and support patient flow with a focus on accurate testing and clear communication.

The role requires knowledge of OCT, visual acuity testing, and other ocular assessments, with emphasis on HIPAA compliance and professional patient care. High school education is required, COA certification preferred, with potential on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Minimum of one year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with patients in a professional and courteous manner and explain test procedures.
• Obtain medical and ocular histories and prepare patients for examinations.
• Perform diagnostic tests to support accurate diagnosis and treatment of ocular conditions.
• Take ocular measurements and test visual functions including acuity and fields.
• Maintain clean, organized exam rooms and prep areas.
• May scribe as required by the provider.
• Review patient charts for completeness and accuracy per medical standards.
