Job summary

Alcon is seeking a Clinical Applications Specialist to train surgeons and their staff in the Northern Virginia/Washington, DC area, both in person and virtually. You will lead clinical education for cataract, refractive, and glaucoma products and support Digital Health SaaS offerings.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, fluent English, and about 2 years of relevant experience. Travel about 85% is expected, with opportunities to collaborate across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; MS.+0 yrs)

Responsibilities

• Manages technical and clinical training of surgeons and staff on Alcon devices in-person and virtually.
• Delivers training to move technology from training to revenue recognition stage.
• Provides ongoing in-person and virtual clinical support to embed Alcon technology and improve patient outcomes.
• Presents to ophthalmic surgeons on complex topics using evolving tech, often under high-stress conditions.
• Trains and supports Alcon Digital Health SaaS offerings for clinic integration with cloud/DICOM platforms.
• Evaluates training effectiveness via customer feedback and SPS scores.
• Attends conventions, congresses, fellowships, conferences, exhibits, and wet labs as SME.
• Provides feedback to R&D on development and testing of new tech and software.
• Mentors CAS associates through on-the-job training opportunities.
• Aligns territory training needs with commercial goals using Strategic Account Management.
• Maintains certifications on all trained products via annual recertification.
