Job summary

Vision Innovation Partners (VIP) seeks an Ophthalmic Associate to join our patient care team in Frederick, MD. You will assist providers with diagnostic and treatment procedures and handle clinical and administrative tasks.

On-the-job training is available, with a career path toward ophthalmic technician or scribe. A high school diploma or GED is required, and proficiency with MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED certificate required.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word).

Responsibilities

• Take medical histories and verify information.
• Perform visual function and diagnostic tests as directed.
• Utilize ophthalmic instruments to take eye measurements.
• Inform the ophthalmologist about changes in visual acuity and eye issues.
• Dilate eyes to prepare patients for exams.
• Explain proper use of eye drops or medications.
• Assist with inventory management.

We are seeking an Ophthalmic Associate to join our patient care team.

We are willing to provide on-the-job training and experience to the right candidate as they work towards a career path of an ophthalmic technician or scribe. In this role, your primary tasks are to assist the providers with diagnostic and treatment-oriented procedures and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do:

• Take medical histories and verify information
• Perform visual function and diagnostic tests, such as applanation tonometry, refraction, and retinoscopy
• Utilize tools such as a Humphrey field analyzer and OCT to take eye measurements
• Inform the ophthalmologist about changes to a patient's visual acuity and other vision issues
• Dilate eyes to prepare patients for their eye exam
• Explain how to properly use eye drops or other medications
• Explain how to properly use contact lenses
• Assist with inventory management

Qualifications

$18- 20 an hour

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as, but not limited to full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility, annual educational reimbursement, and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO).
